Neiman-Marcus at Dallas has a fire in the spring (see 1907). Filene's Basement at Boston (see 1909) sells the old store's stock while Neiman-Marcus builds a new one.

Catalog merchant Montgomery Ward dies at Highland Park, Ill., December 7 at age 70.
