Painting: The Sleeping Gypsy by Henri Rousseau; Large Interior with Six Figures by Edouard Vuillard; Boulevard des Italians, Morning, Sunlight and Paris, the Boulevard Montmartre at Night by Camille Pissarro; Reclining Nude by Pierre-Auguste Renoir; Science and Charity by Pablo Picasso; The Kiss by Edvard Munch; Sunset, Hudson River (Near Hastings-on-Hudson) by Jasper Francis Cropsey, now 74.
The Caillebotte Room opens at the Luxembourg Palace in Paris with the first exhibition of Impressionist paintings ever displayed in a French museum. The will of the late Gustave Caillebotte left his collection to the government.
