Wilhelm Emmanuel, Baron von Ketteler, dies at Burghausen July 13 at age 65, having been outspoken in support of workers as bishop of Mainz; Mormon leader Brigham Young dies at Salt Lake City August 29 at age 76, survived by 17 wives (some of his 27 wives were merely "sealed" to him as ceremonial spouses) and 47 children.
