Fiction: Ormond, or The Secret Witness by Charles Brockden Brown; Hyperion by German poet-novelist (Johann Christian) Friedrich Hölderlin, 29, who has been helped by Frankfurt banker's wife Susette Gontard (he tutored her children and she fell in love with him). The first volume appeared 2 years ago.
