History, Social Sciences
Eastern Mennonite University - Harrisonburg, VA, US (2007 - 2011)
Aside from history, the social sciences, and political science and theory, I enjoy reading fiction books from the school library, playing acoustic and electric guitar, lifting weights and running, and analyzing game tapes from top-notch football games to improve my knowledge of the sport. I am also beginning to involve myself in microlending through Kiva.org, and whether I'm working, driving, or chilling at home I enjoy listening to National Public Radio to stay informed.
I am fortunate to be a licensed teacher in the state of Virginia for history and social sciences in grades 6 through 12, and although my goal is to earn that first full-time teaching job, I have really enjoyed working as a substitute teacher and teacher assistant during these past two years. I am originally from Goshen, Indiana, and have lived in Iowa, Kansas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Ohio before finally ending up in Virginia.
