Bio
PhD, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, 1989 in English: British Literature, with certification of study in Victorian Studies; earned M.A. at Indiana University, 1984. B.A. English, Wheaton College, Norton, MA, 1976. Have done research in Oxford, England. Currently teach special education/English in middle school. Have taught on the high school level (both general ed and special ed), college, continuing education at the university level. I have also worked as an editor and writer.
Interests
Reading: My field of study in graduate school was the 19th century novel, which I will always consider a main interest. I read widely in fiction and nonfiction, predominantly British and American authors, 19th century through to the present. Other Interests: The arts (theater, film, painting, sculpture, dance, music); love animals, especially dogs and cats; love to travel, though having three teenagers right now means that we don't travel as exotically as I would wish, at least for now; politics; crafts.
