In "A Passage to India," what are the differences and similarities between aziz' and feilding's personalities??

    Both Aziz and Fielding, to some extent, work to please the other ethnic group.  Aziz bends over backward to accomodate the British raj, while Fielding (though less subservient) does the same with the Indians.  And both do this with a certain measure of contempt, both for their own group and for the other as well. Aziz, however, is much more concerned about appearances, does he look dutiful enough, etc.  Fielding, on the other hand, has no concern at all for his reputation, but instead simply does what he please and what he thinks is right.
