I believe Aziz would act that way just to protect Adela. Other than that, he probably knows that since he's Indian people won't believe him anyways, and therefore he wants to get over it quickly Posted by alessia on May 13, 2008. |

I believe that Aziz would act guilty when he really isn't, because he's scared and knows that he is innocent, and he believes and knows that everything will turn out for the best. I also believe that Aziz is acting in this way to keep Adela safe. Posted by galvanc on May 13, 2008. |

I agree, I think that he acted this way because he was trying to look out for Adela. If i was him I would have tried to talk to her about it and try to talk her into telling the truth about what had happend. Posted by caitlingaffney on May 14, 2008. |

I think that Aziz acted guilty even though he wasn't because he wants to keep Adela safe and he doesn't want to make her look like a liar and a trouble maker. He also probably thinks that just because he is indian and Adela is English, that the people will tend to believe Adela so he doesn't even bother trying to defend himself. The fact of Aziz acting guilty when he isn't could be seen as a way of weakness. In knowing that he is an indian and that he is considered inferrior he has no opportunity of winning. Thus, he feels it to be useless to argue and try to defend himself. Maddalena and Beatrice Posted by maddabea on May 14, 2008. |
