Thematic Apperception Test

Thematic Apperception Test (TAT)
A projective test developed in the United States in the 1930s, employing twenty monochromatic, indefinite pictures of human action. Respondents describe what is happening, what led up to this, and what follows. Narratives, which are assumed to reveal (through projection) something of the respondent's personality, are interpreted in relation to established norms.
