learning theoryThe formulation of laws or principles of learning, learning theory is usually identified with behaviourist ‘stimulus-response’ models of learning, centred on the process of conditioning. However, psychologists now view learning as a process involving cognition and information handling, and as a rule do not attempt to develop highly generalized theories of learning.
