behaviour therapy
behaviour therapyA form of psychotherapy, originally resting upon behaviourist principles, and using the techniques of classical and instrumental conditioning. The therapist tries to change the conditions that maintain the maladaptive behaviour. Recently, however, behaviour therapists have paid increasing attention to thoughts and thought processes and the treatment is referred to as congnitive behavioural therapy.
