    Dally waits for Ponyboy and Johnny on a street corner in the beginning of Chapter 2.  The three boys shop-lift from a drugstore, watch a fight from a diner, and chase some younger boys across a field.  Then they go to the drive-in theatre, where they sneak in.  They all have money to pay, but Dally insists that they sneak in.  Ponyboy explains, "He liked to show he didn't care whether there was a law or not."
