There is no one right or wrong answer to this question, since it is purely hypothetical and did not actually happen in the book.  Your answer should be based on what you know of the characters, such as their priorities, values, and desires.  For Ponyboy, education is important; he is the dreamer and best student of the three brothers.  Sodapop does not seem to desire much in life except to be with his girlfriend, Sandy, who was forced to move away and what is best for his brothers.  Of course, the story also mentions that he is a horse lover.  Darry would have gone to college if he had not needed to step in and take on the burden of financial responsibility for himself and his brothers.  In my opinion, the Curtis boys are wise enough that they would choose to take care of their obligations before doing anything else, but also young enough that they would look to their futures and also do what they could to help their friends.
