Like Sophocles in Oedipus Rex, Shakespeare makes extensive use of dramatic irony in this play. Point out effective examples.

The easiest example of dramatic irony is the core example. In the first act, Othello is accused of having used illicit means to get to Desdemona. It was even said that she had deceived her father and would deceive him. He is certain she won't--but they reverses himself, and doubts her to the point of killing her.
The doubled irony? She is completely faithful to him.
