I'm not really sure exactly what you're asking here. I don't know if you're referring to the time period (era) or the length of time the play encompasses. I'll answer as if you're asking about the length of time the play emcompasses. It is only a short period of time, actually, a matter of days, not months. Once Iago has planted the seed of jealousy in Othello's mind, the action moves quickly. Othello's impatience also keeps the action moving along at a steady pace.
