She begin in Crook's room when she complains that all Curley does is spend“ all his time sayin’ what he’s gonna do to guys he don’t like, and he don’t like nobody.” With Lennie, she tells how she met Curley and married him on the rebound after being jilted by some man who told her she could be in the movies. Thus, her dream [of being a movie star[ were shattered just like other dreams of the men in the novel. She also tells Lennie that she really doesn't like Curley. It's obvious that she, like the men that surround her, is a lonely, friendless creature who simply wants attention. Like Lennie, she is often misunderstood and ostracized by society and also her husband. She tells this to Lennie, because Lennie listens to her and no one else will.
