More generally, though, we can find thematic connections. Both are about attempts for members of the lower classes to transform themselves and get ahead. In Of Mice and Men, the two men are trying to get their own place, so they no longer have to move from place to place. They have a dream, but it is crushed. In Pygmalion, Liza is relatively content in her place early on, then has a dream instilled in her through the transformative experience. Both show the difficulty in changing classes.
