Oedipus is still king at the end of the play, he is just blind and grossed out from all of the incestual things he has done. He only has two remaining heirs, Antigone and Ismene, whom are female.
Antigone has her own dramatic contributions in the play written by Sophocles. There is a debate on burial and state control that permeates the entire play. But this play leaves Oedipus' brother=in-law, Creon, in charge.
