What are the themes or issues that get raised at the meeting  between Odysseus and the dead heroes Ajax, Agamemnon, and Achilles?

    One issue undoubtedly raised is that Odysseus has to get home, and be wary of how things have changed since he left.

    Agamemmnon's story alone provides enough credibility to this story; while he was off fighting the war, his wife was carrying on an affair, and eventually, Agamemmnon is killed becaue of his wife's behavior.

    As though Odysseus doesn't already have enough incentive to return, Agamemmnon helps give him pause...and may just provide the stimulus for Odysseus to return quietly, so that he will be able to regain the throne.
