The slaughter of the suitors in Books 21 and 22 show what a powerful warrior Odysseus is. His revenge may seem extreme to a modern audience, but he goes undercover in disguise to gather information, then sets up his revenge. His physical power is demonstrated when he strings the bow that no one else could string. This is also proof because it was his bow, and years have passed, but he hasn't lost any of his power. He then makes a fantastic shot with the bow, and then kills all the suitors. He has guile, strength, and force of will. He's still a warrior.
