    In Book 15, as Telemachus and Peisistratus prepare to leave in their chariot, an eagle carrying a goose flies by them on their right side.

    Throughout The Odyssey birds are seen as an omen sent by the gods, and Helen interprets the sight of the eagle and the goose as a sign of Odysseus returning soon and being successful in enacting vengeance on the suitors.
