Lennie Small is a strongly built, simple-minded itinerant farm worker who arrives at the Boss's farm in the company of his protective friend George Milton. Lennie is repeatedly getting into trouble, because, although he always tries to be gentle, his massive strength and clumsiness frighten people. Right now he and Gerorge are on the run, because Lennie's stroking a woman's dress was misinterpreted as attempted rape. Lennie and George dream of having their own farm, where Lennie could tend the animals, which he loves with touching tenderness. When his tart of a wife flirts with Lennie, the Boss's vicious son Curley attacks...
