Hampton Court

Hampton Court
was developed by Cardinal Wolsey, who presented it to Henry VIII in 1525. Henry further developed the site, particularly the Great Hall which can be regarded as the oldest surviving English playhouse. The King's Men played at Hampton Court, over Christmas 1603/4, for James I and Queen Anne with over 30 plays being performed that Christmas.
