Geijer, Erik Gustaf
Geijer, Erik Gustaf (1783–1847),Swedish historian and poet. His Macbeth (1813), modelled on Schiller's version, was the first Swedish translation of a Shakespeare play; it was written after a stay in England where Geijer saw Kemble in Hamlet and Cooke as Shylock.
