Adams, Joseph Quincy (1881–1946),
American scholar, first director of the Folger Shakespeare Library (1934) and an editor of the New Variorum edition of Shakespeare. He was author of A Life of William Shakespeare (1916) and, using Revels records, Shakespearean Playhouses: A History of English Theatres from the Beginnings to the Restoration (1917).
