Linati, Carlo

Linati, Carlo (1878–1949),
Italian writer and literary critic, known for his novel Duccio da Bontà (1912). He wrote autobiographical tales, allegoric and psychological tales, and fairy tales. In Storie di bestie e di fantasmi (Animal and Ghost Stories, 1925), he draws from the fantastic and the animal world to create such original tales as ‘Favola Marina’ (A Sea Fairy Tale’), a fast‐paced story of the marine kingdom in which a clever little fish fools a voracious shark.
