Koslow, Ron
Koslow, Ron (1947– ),American television writer and producer. Koslow was responsible for Beauty and the Beast , (1987–90), a dramatic fantasy series inspired by Jean Cocteau's 1945 film version of the fairy tale. ‘Beauty’ is Catherine (played by Linda Hamilton), a young lawyer who works for New York City's District Attorney. Attacked and left for dead one night in Central Park, she is found by ‘the Beast’—Vincent, a man with a lion's face (Ron Perlman)—who carries her to his home in the hidden tunnels beneath the city and nurses her back to health. The two form a telepathic bond that deepens into a profound but hopeless love; although neither can live in the other's world, Vincent always knows when Catherine is in danger and comes to rescue her. The series was given little chance of success, but achieved a surprising degree of ‘cult’...
