Koser‐Michaels, Ruth

Koser‐Michaels, Ruth (1896–1968) and Koser, Martin (1903–71),
German illustrators, who produced charming illustrations for fairy‐tale editions of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (1937), Hans Christian Andersen (1938), Aldelbert von Chamisso (1938), Wilhelm Hauff (1939), Ludwig Bechstein (1940), and Hans Friedrich Blunck (1942). Through detailed ink drawings and bright aquarelles they produced lovable folk characters and cosy scenes that have a quaint quality, and their illustrated books have remained popular up to the present.
