Ensikat, Klaus (1937– )
German illustrator, who has won many national and international awards such as the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1996. Ensikat does sharp black‐and‐white ink drawings and is known for his extraordinarily detailed work. Among his best illustrated fairy tales are Charles Perrault's Tom Thumb (1977), Edward Lear's The Story about the Four Small Children who Went around the World (1992), Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland (1993), E.
