Dagon
Dagon,the national deity of the ancient Philistines, represented as half man, half fish (Judg. 16: 23; 1 Sam, 5: 1–5). In Milton's Paradise Lost , I. 462, he appears as a fallen angel: see also Samson Agonistes .
