‘Balin and Balan’,one of Tennyson's Idylls of the King , first published 1885 . It is the story of two brothers who kill each other unwittingly, Balan mistaking for a demon the impassioned Balin, who is driven to frenzy by a conviction of Guinevere's adultery. (See Balyn .)
