Wasserstein, Wendy
Wasserstein, Wendy( 1950– ),born in Brooklyn, after graduate work at Yale early got into writing and publication for the stage and television with Any Woman Can't (1973) and, among other productions, Uncommon Women and Others (1975), begun as a one-act text and developed into a full-length text for New York and very numerous productions nationwide. It was followed by Isn't It Romantic in versions of 1979 and 1983. Her growing production and reputation were increased with The Heidi Chronicles (1988), awarded a Pulitzer Prize. It is another inquiry into the nature and activities of women, with comic treatment as part of a serious overall theme. Bachelor Girls (1990) treats similar themes.
