Quinto Sol Movement

Quinto Sol Movement,
named for the group of Chicano writers who published with Quinto Sol Publications (1967–1977), established in Berkeley to publish Mexican-American writing. The concept of Atzlan, the supposed ancient home of the Aztecs somewhere in the American Southwest, was adopted by many of the writersas a way of fostering pride in both their Indianand Mexican heritages. Quinto Sol introduced the work of Hinojosa-Smith and Rudofo Anaya.
