National Gazette
National Gazette ( 1791–93),newspaper of the Democratic Republican party, edited at Philadelphia by Freneau, and financed by Jefferson to oppose Fenno's Federalist Gazette of the United States. It ceased publication when Jefferson resigned from the secretaryship of state. A contributing cause of its demise was the Philadelphia yellow-fever epidemic.
