James, Will[iam Roderick]
James, Will[iam Roderick]( 1892–1942),cowboy author and illustrator, whose tales of the West include Cowboys, North and South (1942), The Drifting Cowboy (1925), Smoky (1926), Cow Country (1927), Sand (1929), Sun-Up (1931), Horses I've Known (1940), and The American Cowboy (1942). Lone Cowboy: My Life Story (1930) is his autobiography, fictively embellished.
