Hall, Baynard Rush
Hall, Baynard Rush( 1798–1863),Presbyterian clergyman and teacher of classics in Indiana, the site of The New Purchase: or, Seven and a Half Years in the Far West (1843), his quasi-fictive depiction of frontier life issued under the name Robert Carlton. Frank Freeman's Barber Shop (1852) is a novel about a black barber.
