Gann, Ernest K[ellogg]
Gann, Ernest K[ellogg]( 1910–91),Nebraska-born author, whose works include the popular novel The High and the Mighty (1953), about the passengers of a disabled plane flying from Hawaii to San Francisco, and Fate Is the Hunter (1961), a memoir of his experiences as a flyer, including service as an airline pilot and during World War II in the Army Air Transport Command.
