Fair God, The; Or, The Last of the Tzins
Fair God, The; Or, The Last of the Tzins, romance by Lew Wallace, was published in 1873, although it had been begun in 1843 under the influence of reading Prescott. Based on research and on the author's knowledge of Mexico, the romance is concerned with the invasion of the Aztec empire by Cortés and his defeat by the prince Guatamozin, who kills his weak uncle Montezuma in a vain attempt to save his country.
