Davenport, Marcia

Davenport, Marcia( 1903–94),
music critic and author, daughter of the singer Alma Gluck, wrote Mozart (1932); and the novels Of Lena Geyer (1936), about a musician; The Valley of Decision (1943), tracing a Pittsburgh family and its steel mills from 1873 to 1941; East Side, West Side (1947); My Brother's Keeper (1954), about two reclusive rich men; and Constant Image (1960). Too Strong for Fantasy (1967) is a memoir.
