The Danites in the Sierras
Danites in the Sierras, The(Produced 1877, Printed 1882), play by Joaquin Miller.
The Danites, a secret society of Mormons, attempt to take revenge upon a young girl for her supposed crimes. She disguises herself as a man, alone in a cabin in the Sierras, to elude their pursuit. There are many suspenseful interludes, and Danites was one of the most popular frontier dramas in the country, as well as a success in London when it was produced there in 1880.
