Bailyn, Bernard
Bailyn, Bernard( 1922– ),born in Connecticut, after an A.B. from Williams College and higher degrees from Harvard has been on its faculty since 1953 and has held distinguished appointments in more recent years. His numerous books in his field of history include New England Merchants in the 17th Century (1955); The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution (1967), awarded a Pulitzer Prize; and Voyagers to the West: A Passage in the Peopling of America on the Eve of the Revolution (1986), also awarded a Pulitzer Prize.
