Adair, James
Adair, James( c.1709–c.1783),Irish-born trader with the Indians in the South, came to America about 1735. His book The History of the American Indians (1775) is valuable as an account of the customs and languages of the Chickasaw and other tries, despite its thesis that Indians are descended from the ancient Israelites.
