Nothing but the Truth | Literary Qualities

Avi's education in playwriting can be seen in much of what he has written, especially in Nothing but the Truth. Nothing but the Truth is written mostly as a dramatic dialogue, with the voices of the characters the only sources for information about events. The occasional expository passage is provided by excerpts from Miss Narwin's letters to her sister in Florida, Philip's diary, newspaper stories, and school memos.
