Posted by akannan on Wednesday September 30, 2009 at 9:00 AMThe American Historical Association (AHA) has taken a fairly strong stand regarding the denial of the Holocaust. In a Spring 1991 Meeting, the AHA decided to make a public statement regarding the denial of the Holocaust. This was in response to a couple from Illinois who "questioned the reality of the Nazi Holocaust." The statement was a strong denunciation of such a stance, and concluded that "The American Historical Association Council strongly deplores the publicly reported attempts to deny the fact of the Holocaust. No serious historian questions that the Holocaust took place." Such a belief concurs with Wiesel's own stand about those who deny the existence of the Holocaust.
