In Night, how does Elie get to know Moche?

    In Chapter 1 after a brief description of Moche the Beadle's eccentricities and others' view of him, Elie discusses his own interest in Cabalism and his father's disapproval of his studying it.  Regardless of his dad's opinion, Elie goes to Moche and begins learning various aspects of prayer, etc. from him.  Moche is normally at the synagogue, cleaning and praying; so it he is certainly accessible to Elie, a young pupil.
