what message is Wiesel giving us readers through his example of Juliek and his violin?

In a very strange way, Juliek and his violin could be the sound of the nightingale.  Throughout literature, the symbol of the nightingale is the sound of beauty, of purity, and representative of the greatest of essences in all of humanity.  The nightingale's sound pierces, reminding us of the glory in life.  In a very inverted way, perhaps the nightingale is the sound of life amidst death.  Juliek possesses a great deal of love for his violin.  When he's crushed with Eliezer, he is concerned for his violin.  Towards the end of the work, Eliezer hears Juliek's violin- the sound of the nightingale.  Ironic:  The nightingale is deemed as "an enemy of the Reich" (being taken into captivity as Polish) and is playing Beethoven (honoring Germany's heritage.)  The next morning he is dead, indicating the death of art, of talent, of the sound of the nightingale.
