Are students very social? Is there an active social scene open to students? Does the school have a reputation as a party school?

NYU students are very social and take advantage of what NYU and the city has to offer. The student center hosts a lot of activies during the year that are open to all NYU students such as fairs, performances, and a variety of theme nights (the best part being free food). In the city, along with checking out the local bar scene, a lot of students are fans of holding dorm parties. If you join a team, they will most likely throw parties on weekends as well. So yes, NYU has a reputation of being a party school. However, during the week, most people like to take it easy and focus more on school work, homework, and sports.
