What is life like on campus? Does a lot of social activity take place on campus? Are there a lot of campus activities?

NYU has tons of great programs all year long sponsered by various clubs, and the student council. There are also many great activities run within the dorms. During Welcome Week, there are dozens of programs such as a walk over the brooklyn bridge, tours around the city, scavenger hunts, performances by various groups and artists, and the beach ball (a freshman dance).

Throughout the year events are held in Washington Square Park which is the "quad" for NYU. Examples include Obama holding a rally and a protest held by the Writers Union when they went on strike. Tina Fey was there.

 So yes, there is a lot of social activity on campus and being in New York City allows students to enjoy activities such as plays, museums, and clubs that would not be found on a suburban campus.
