New York University
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming to NYU
Once you’re out of the freshman dorms, don’t get a meal plan; buy groceries.
Campus Cash is a great way to pay for a quick bite when you’re on campus.
Always bring a walkman or portable CD player for tuning out annoying subway riders and people asking for money.
Always carry a small umbrella, because street vendors jack up the prices when it’s raining.
Card games on the streets are a scam, and you will most likely lose your money if you play them.
If you make impulse buys when walking down the street, you’ll be broke before the semester’s over.
Avoid Friday classes if you can. Three-day weekends are great for doing extra work (or extra partying).
