The Naked and the Dead | Adaptations

A movie was made of The Naked and the Dead in 1958, but it was not well received by critics. It is a stolid film, directed by Raoul Walsh, that takes its story from the novel but fails to render the author's rich social and philosophical portrayal of America's involvement in World War II. The cast included Aldo Ray, Cliff Robertson, Raymond Massey, Barbara Nichols.
